Tigers vs. Guardians: Here's Detroit's Lineup for Game 3 of the ALDS

Detroit — The Tigers will play their fifth postseason game of 2024 this Wednesday, marking their first at home this year. In fact, it's their first postseason appearance at Comerica Park since 2014, when they were swept out of the American League Division Series by the Baltimore Orioles.

This year, the Tigers return to Comerica Park for Game 3 of the ALDS, tied 1-1 with the Cleveland Guardians after Kerry Carpenter's clutch three-run homer in the ninth inning sealed Monday's 3-0 victory in Cleveland. Carpenter, now batting second, leads a Tigers lineup loaded with left-handers to face Guardians' veteran right-hander Alex Cobb, who has made just three starts this season. Cobb last appeared in the postseason in 2013 with the Tampa Bay Rays.

Keider Montero will take the mound as the Tigers' opener, after pitching two innings in the Game 1 loss, where he allowed one hit and struck out three. Wednesday's game is set for 3:08 p.m. with a sellout crowd of over 44,000 expected. Tigers legend Alan Trammell will throw the ceremonial first pitch.
