Carlton Davis Joins Patriots on a Three-Year Deal – Full Contract Details
Patriots Secure CB Carlton Davis with Lucrative Three-Year Deal
Cornerback Carlton Davis made it clear over the weekend that he wouldn’t settle for anything less than top dollar in free agency, and it appears he’s staying true to that stance.
According to multiple reports, Davis has agreed to a three-year, $60 million contract with the New England Patriots, which includes $34.5 million in guaranteed money.
Davis, who was traded from the Buccaneers to the Lions last season, previously felt he had taken less than his full value when signing his last contract in Tampa. Now, the Patriots are betting that he will prove worthy of his new deal over the next few seasons.
New England is also bolstering its defense with the additions of edge rusher Harold Landry and linebacker Robert Spillane, both of whom have reportedly agreed to terms with the team in recent days.
